چکیده
In this study, the clinical course, pathological findings, and potential risk factors of a systemic aspergillosis outbreak caused by Aspergillus fumigatus in racing pigeons (Columba livia domestica) were investigated. The disease was reported during period intense exercise 120 head pigeon flock. coincided with high environmental temperatures. Affected birds displayed symptoms, such as weakness, fatigue, depression, inability to stand, rapidly developing incoordination, convulsions, death. Necropsy revealed varying sized, prominent nodular or plaque-like lesions on lungs, air sacs, visceral peritoneum. Single multiple case- onecrotic fungal granulomas invading existing and/or adjacent tissues seen histopathologically. Malacic le- sions associated elements observed central nervous system. Histopathologic cytological findings presence characteristic A. lesions. Considering fact that envi- ronmental temperatures above seasonal norms emergence well subjugation for race preparations, colonization its spread likely due combined effects these factors.

Putative adult neurogenesis in two domestic pigeon breeds (Columba livia domestica): racing homer versus utility carneau pigeons
Generation of neurons in the brains of adult birds has been studied extensively in the telencephalon of song birds and few studies are reported on the distribution of PCNA and DCX in the telencephalon of adult non-song learning birds. We report here on adult neurogenesis throughout the brains of two breeds of adult domestic pigeons (Columba livia domestica), the racing homer and utility carneau...

The aim of the present study was to investigate the light and electron microscopic structure of the tongue in pigeon. Three parts are distinguished in the dorsal surface of the tongue: the apex, the body and the root of the tongue. On the dorsal surface of the apex and body of the tongue a median groove is found. Large conical papillae are located symmetrically in the form of the letter U in th...
